How to become a real estate agent in South Africa

Like most people would always say "I want to get into property". Property career is like a faculty at university with different courses. Real estate agency is one of the carriers one can get into in the property space.

Not having an Inquisitive mind can be what set apart people to enter the property filed as a real estate agent. Being a Real Estate Agent is one of the carrier practical is as important as theory.

Who?
Anyone who has interested in any scope of work involving:

  • Buying,
  • Renting,
  • Selling and
  • Managing property
  • When?

Applications for as an intern estate agent is throughout the year at Estate Agency Affairs Board(EAAB). You can start your log book at any time of the year.

How?
First step you need to look for a registered real estate company to give you a 12 months' internship opportunity. During this 12 month you have to complete an EAAB log book that will be singed off by the principal agent at the end of internship. Intern need to write EFTC NQF level 4 qualification between 8 and 12 months into the internship program, followed by another professional designate exam (PDE). The intern will apply and acquire the Fertility Fund Certificate(FFC) through Estate Agency Affairs Board at the end of the internship and the two exams.
